In addition to chronicling Janice and Cecil’s lives and love story, This Love demonstrates the love-fueled movement for social justice that emerged from Glide, including how the Center for Social Justice was established as Glide’s secular, advocacy arm. The film and its accompanying outreach and engagement campaign will foster social responsibility, promote civic engagement leadership, and inspire activism by intentionally exploring issues that continue to be relevant today:
What happens when people who live on the margins of a society are embraced by a loving community, rather than shunned?
What happens when people who are struggling with substance use and addiction find acceptance and support, rather than judgment and punishment?
What happens when a church rejects homophobia and instead commits itself to educating other religious communities on how to embrace the LGBTQ+ community?
